| FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions |
Q: How do I know if I am eligible for a European passport/citizenship?
A: Once you enter your details into the entry form through the ECC a representative from our organization will contact you within 24 hours. Through a short series of Q/A the representative will establish a firm evaluation regarding your case.
Q: What kind of information would I need to provide the representative?
A: The more information you supply the better, here are a few details you should take under consideration: Birth dates of every family member in a direct line between you and your European ancestor. Location of birth, marriage and death events for every family member in a direct line between you and your European ancestor. Information regarding your ancestor's naturalization.
Q: What happens after I have been notified that I am eligible to start the process?
A: You will receive via e-mail/post mail the relevant forms in your native tongue, and a representative from our legal staff will contact you with further guidance and assistance.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: Depending on the country of origin. Each country has its own policy regarding claiming citizenship.
Q: Once I get my European passport/citizenship will I need to give up my current citizenship?
A: The following countries do not allow dual citizenships: Finland, Latvia, and Slovenia.
Q: How can I speed up the process of claiming my European citizenship?
A: Once you open a request for European passport and start the process all documentation can be sent through E-mail, fax, post mail for your convenience and to speed things up. In cases that there is no documentation, we at the ECC Will get power of attorney from the candidate and find the proper documentation necessary for receiving the European passport.
Q: Will I be eligible for European citizenship in spite the fact that my only connection to my European heritage is deceased?
A: Yes you will be eligible, as long as we prove the connection between the European deceased and the candidate the nationality law still applies.
Q: When is a good time to obtain the European citizenship?
A: Now is the best time for a non European to claim his/her Citizenship.
The fact is that the EU has been growing physically and financially over the years and drawn millions of immigrants to its borders, as time goes by the immigration offices limit the number of entrees and citizenship requests each year, so now is the best time to start the process. |
